The current landscape for those in the liberal arts is very much what you make of it. Sure, you can go on to become a CEO or a super wealthy artist, but it's much more likely that you'll live a humble life of humble means.

Yeah, we know that probably isn't what you wanted to hear. The unemployment rate is near the top for college graduates, beaten only by the fine arts. At least it's still only about one in twenty. That's not too bad, right?

In addition to the higher unemployment, the salary (once you do get a job) is lower than most college majors. It isn't at the bottom of the barrel, but it doesn't exactly mean you'll get to drive a Bugatti to work every day. This just means that if you can find work in a field you love, you can be happy.

If your goal is to score a sweet, high-paying job at the age of twenty-two, you should probably consider another major.
