Okay, honesty hour…we don't have very accurate stats for the mythology and folklore major. Yep, the stats we gathered are for humanities majors in general. We're sorry to mislead you. It's just that mythology and folklore is really unpopular. What did you expect, huh?

That should say a lot about your job prospects. Sure, none of the other applicants will know why vampires hate garlic and are always beautiful and seductive despite never being able to see their reflections. You have an advantage there, no doubt. But think about who in the workforce will care about stuff like that.

Sorry, but it's true.

The thing is, you shouldn't major in mythology and folklore without a plan. If you're just interested in learning some fun stories, you should absolutely consider a different major and career path. We aren't saying it's useless to pursue this major, because it's not. All knowledge is good. We're just saying that it's definitely not one of the more useful degrees.

Just be cognizant of the fact that employers prefer candidates who have taken more practical courses like, you know, biology or finance. Not so much Monster Theory 101. We hope we don't have to explain why.
