General quality of life statement

Wow.

No, we're not kidding here. Wow. In any list of the most profitable majors, naval architecture and marine engineering comes in the top ten. There's so much demand for ships, and better ships, and then better ships than those. It's a whole cycle, is what we're saying, and who reaps the benefits? That would be you.

You might think that high wages would have to be balanced out by something, just in the interests of fairness. You would be wrong. The high wages are driven by a high demand. This also means very little unemployment. So you're getting that job, and it's going to pay you.

So maybe you're miserable?

Doesn't look like it. Most naval architects are quite happy in their lives. Call it a combination of high wages, feeling needed, and doing what they love. That sounds like a pretty great combination to us.

If you love ships, boats, watercraft of any kind really, this could be a great decision for you. You're designing the engines of commerce, and in your free time, you're totally building that old timey pirate ship. We would.
