Money money money money...MON-EY.

Sing that to really get the full effect.

Here's the thing: petroleum engineers get paid bank. Oil still makes the world go 'round, so there's nothing more important than digging it up. The fact of the matter is that the twenty-fifth percentile people in this field make more than a lot of the seventy-fifth percentile people in others. And the ones who are doing well? These are the kinds of people who build moats around their properties and fill them with crocodiles.

At least that's what we would do with the money. We really like crocodiles.

Financial security, at least in the short term, is fantastic. You'll have a car, a boat, a second car, a boat-car, and even one of those scooters that makes everyone look like a pizza delivery guy. The sky's the limit.

In the long term, this is a major that's on its way out. Advances in technology and stricter environmental laws are soon going to make petroleum engineering a relic of the past.

But hey, it's around now. Make the most of it while you can.
