Allonge

The contract had to be signed by 187 people, a complex transaction involving 18 countries and 22 products. The bill of exchange simply didn't have enough lines for the army of people required to sign the document. So an allonge was amended to that bill of exchange, purely for the purposes of creating room for more people to sign it. And yes, "allonge" is a fancy, legal, quasi-French-sounding term for an extra sheet of paper for people to sign. We're not kidding, we don't make this stuff up. Remember: "garage" is a fancy (though not really legal in any way), French-sounding term for "car hole." Sometimes these Frenchy terms just happen.
