Batch Header Record

A record of the transfer of a batch (group) of banking (or other financial) data.

The record will list the transactions' origins as well as the summaries of the credits and debits associated with them. Specifically in the banking industry, the batch header record will be utilized in ACH (Automated Clearing House) transactions, which is a system of EFTs (electronic funds transfers). ACH is geared towards batch-processing and recordation; each transaction is assigned a file header record, followed by a series of batches, each containing their own respective entry detail records.
