Confining Condition

Categories: Insurance, Regulations

If there’s one thing insurance companies love, it’s getting your money. If there’s one thing they hate, it’s paying for your healthcare. Which is one reason that something called a confining condition...exists.

In the medical field, a confining condition is one that limits a patient to their home, nursing home, or hospital room. Sounds simple, but it has pretty significant meaning when it comes to the healthcare business. In some cases, health insurance will not pay for services unless a patient's condition reaches the level of being classified as "confining."
