Frugalista

We all have that friend...the one who maybe doesn’t make a lot of money but somehow always manages to look like she just stepped out of the pages of the trendiest fashion mag. She’s got the purse, the ‘do, and the shoes, and her outfits are always the hippest of the hip. When we ask her what her secret is, she tells us she’s a frugalista: she’s a grade-A bargain shopper, and she spends less money in other areas of her life so she can focus her finances on her Look.

What this means in day-to-day terms is that she probably finds a lot of her clothes at secondhand stores or discounted sites. Coupons and seasonal sales make her heart go pitter-pat. She might spring for the French manicure every week or so, but she opts not to spend the extra cash on a wax when she takes her car through the car wash. She’s basically doing what she can to allocate her limited resources to the things that are most important to her, which means car waxes are out, while eyebrow waxes are in.
