Internet of Energy - IoE

Upgrades are awesome, whether we’re talking video doorbells or a better wifi connection. The energy industry knows this, which is why they want to get on the upgrade train, too. They want faster connections, smarter systems, and more accurate and reliable information just like the rest of us. Why? Because, just like the rest of us, those things improve efficiency and productivity while saving us money. Technological upgrades let us do more with less. And the Internet of Energy, or IoE, is what’s bringing those upgrades to the energy sector.

The IoE takes all the recent awesome technological advances, mixes it together with society’s focus on energy efficiency, and from that heady brew creates not only solutions to upgrade our existing energy infrastructure, but ideas on new ways to harness and use energy. We’re talking digitized energy grids, predictive maintenance analytics (i.e., predicting when a piece of equipment will fail and having materials and people on hand to fix it), automated data collection and reporting, smart sensors—the whole nine. The Internet of Energy is all about creating systems that work smarter, not harder, in our energy sector.
