Macro Manager

Macro. That's stuff like trading "smarter" than global interest rates, or assessing the value of one currency relative to another.
"Macro" is an entire segment slug of the hedge fund industry. Famous macro traders like George Soros and Stan Druckenmiller made fortunes being smarter than markets. They were macro managers who leveraged market disparities in major global events, like the various mini-crashes we've had in the last decade, when currencies retreated and/or when the euro was formed and European Central Banks had to defend currencies until it fully floated.
See: Bretton Woods. Huge money to be made in macro when it works. Lots of leverage deployed. Lots of risk. Lots of prayer.
