Market Power

In the morning, the manager arrives at 5 am and plugs in the electricity cables at Safeway, Krogers, and Albertsons, and thus has...ok, nvm. Different power.

Market power derives from the ability of a company to set the terms or structure of a given market. Like...in the theme park biz, Disney is "the" brand, the market leader, the top dawg market power in it. In the world of electric cars, Tesla is the hands-down leader (at the moment). Tesla has huge market power in the battery business, with their own factory in central Nevada.

Market power is a good thing...when you have it. See: Monopoly for the dark side.
