Mass Market Retailer

Categories: Marketing

See: Mass Production. See: Mass Merchandising.

A mass market retailer is Macy's (or the old Macy's when it was "the" hub of shopping). It was Sears (yes, before bankruptcy 1). It was Toys 'R' Us (before...you know). It still is Walmart. They sell everything to everyone.

Note that none of these are the local hardware store. They're not the river raft repair shop. They're not even Victoria's Secret...great product, but too narrow to really be called a mass market retailer.

The elephant in the room? Yes. Rhymes with shmamazon. They're the ultimate, the Death Star, the eventual winner of The Game of Retailers.
