Outright Option

See: Outright Futures Position.

You have to have confidence to hold an outright option position. It means you haven’t hedged at all. You have a call or put for some underlying asset, and whatever happens...happens.

It’s like looking a friend directly in the eye and saying, “I’ve always loved you and I want to be more than friends.” Or storming into your boss’s office, banging your hand on their desk and firmly demanding, “I want that raise or I quit.”

That feeling of confidence, only with an option position. Living your life outright.
