Recessionista

We’ve all heard the commercials. Maxinista. Shopping for style, for less.

Recessionistas are fashionistas: people who care about current fashions, and are able to and willing to spend money on them, even during a recession. They might be shopping on a limited budget, but they’ll make it work.

You might be thinking: well, that’s silly. Why would you spend money on fashion during a recession? An economist will tell you that recessionistas are the unsung heroes of the retail market. The economy must go on, and the recessionistas are carrying retail through these here dark, recessionary times.

A recessionista will tell you that a recession is the best time to shop. Prices are down, stores are empty...the dream of any budget shopper. Usually, the cheaper the stuff, the more war-like a shopping trip can get. Like Black Fridays.

But recessions...those are like the opposite of Black Fridays, but with low prices to boot.

No, really though, you should get those boots. So on brand for you.
