Ripple (Cryptocurrency)

On one hand, Ripple represents another entry in the ever-expanding list of cryptocurrencies, a competitor to the likes of Bitcoin and Ethereum. However, Ripple's technology also gets applied to a digital payment network, used as a network to make financial transactions.

The payment tech isn't limited to the Ripple currency. You can use it for various forms of money, whether traditional currencies (like the U.S. dollar) or competing crytos (like Bitcoin).

Ripple, co-founded by Jed McCaleb Chris Larsen, was first rolled out in 2012.
