Runoff

It's a hot day in May, and you're at the bottom of the mountain after a very snowy season. Runoff. As in: "You'd better run off the property, or you're going to be swimming."

Ok, so now apply that awesome imagery and think of a venture capital portfolio which you're basically done managing. You started with 52 investments; you're down to only 11, and you're looking hard to sell them off, or your ownership stake in them, little by little as you go along...so that you have fewer boards to worry about and fewer money-tracking events to sweat, and you can get back to your life as a barista (yeah, the fund didn't do very well).
