Socialization

The indoctrination…er…process of introduction to the organizational culture norms of a given organization.

It can take the form of informal processes, formal processes, or both. An example of informal processes would be chit-chat with coworkers. The people who came before love to tell new people all about “how things are done.” Maybe even mentorship. Formal processes include training periods, in-services, and other such arrangements. Many organizations will have a combination of these arrangements.
