Technical Indicator

Because the chart says so.
The stock made a triple bottom, and there it sits, right at the base of the third "U." It can go nowhere but up, at least in the near-term, right? That's a technical indicator of where the stock, according to previous chart patterns, is likely heading. Is it actually heading that way? Eh...sometimes.
Charts are actually a bigger thing in the modern era, because so many shares trade now based on "black box" algorithms, many of which are driven off of short-term trade patterns. So it's like..."Yes, they may be silly and unreflective of the underlying business progress of the stocks representing that business...if everyone believes and follows those patterns, then, at least in the short-run, until someone claims and everyone believes that the Emperor has no clothes, the validity of those charts will matter." Or something like that.
Then they'll say, "Who's up for din?" and we're done.
