Unofficial Strike

Bon Jovi sang it: "Union's been on strike; he's out of luck, oh no..." Maybe never should have pushed for the guaranteed pension returns, or that 36-hour work week...

Anyway, workers will occationally "strike," as in a "sick out day" or other quasi-strikes, hoping to strike fear and terror into their bosses' hearts that the company can't continue to operate without them. It's not an official strike, with all kinds of Federal regulators peering over shoulders; it's just a soft walk-out, saying "Hey, we weren't kidding about that espresso machine in the break room."

And yes, the most famous cases led to official strikes, like with the Air Traffic Controllers union, who were all fired by Reagan and, about three years later, almost 90% replaced by computers. D'oh. Who was the guy who ran that strike? What Uber car is he driving now? We wanna ride.
