Fame

You want fame? How about the Olympic equestrian squad? It's only a hunter team, but for all you hunter Shmoopers, this is an excellent career to aspire to.

Western riders don't have the luxury of an Olympic team. They can aim to join a professional rodeo circuit, usually for a fee. If rodeos aren't your cup of tea, you can go for a professional horseman's association. Both will keep you on your horse and competing.

However—as you've probably guessed by the distinct lack of horses on the front of the sports page—there's not a lot of fame to be gained in this sport. Sure, you might end up gracing the cover of Horse Illustrated magazine. And that would be loads of awesome.

But how many non-horse people do you think read Horse Illustrated magazine?

That's right. Approximately zero. But the people who do read it will see you and think that you're talented and so so beautiful…and for the short end of a stick, that's not bad.
