Briarcliff Manor is home to people who might be dangerous to society—like lesbians, people in interracial relationships, and someone who has seen an alien. Hey, it's the 60s. They're not as liberated as you might think.

When Kit (Evan Peters) tries to explain the existence of extraterrestrials to Sister Jude, she doesn't believe he's seen a monster. She believes that he's the monster, and that "all monsters are human."
