Character Analysis
Daenerys has seen her ranks shrink since Khal Drogo's death, but several loyal subjects remain true to her and her cause. They are:
Whitebeard and Strong Belwas
These are two mysterious characters who just appear in Qarth and save Dany from an assassination attempt by way of manticore. They were sent by Magister Illyrio to escort her back to Pentos and give her three ships, and they sail away with Dany at the novel's end.
Magister Illyrio
This guy played matchmaker between Daenerys and Khal Drogo in A Game of Thrones, and he requests Dany return to Pentos, as he feels only she can save the Seven Kingdoms (64.Daenerys.120).
Jhiqui and Irri
These two are handmaidens to Dany.
Aggo, Jhogo, and Rakharo
These three are Dany's bloodriders and the few warriors from Khal Drogo's khalasar to stay with Dany. They protect Dany and her people during the travels across the Red Waste and in Qarth.
