Character Role Analysis

TOC, Katherine

It's easy to say TOC is the big villain in the story, and in a lot of ways that's right on the money. First of all, he shares his name with our protagonist, and in a quest for individuality, it's easy to see why that bugs Colin so much. Plus, he's got the girl, and then goes and hooks up with Katrina anyway. He's not exactly winning any fans by screwing over all three of our main characters in one fell swoop. On the other hand, TOC isn't all that complex. He's the standard arch nemesis that our protagonist is pitted against.

Katherine, however, is a whole different story. She seems like a nice enough gal and Colin falls head-over-heels for her faster than you can say dingleberries, but there's another side to the chick that leaves Colin heartbroken and alone. Now we don't think K-19, or any of the Katherines for that matter, were out to get him, but we do know that Colin's infatuation with K-19 leads him down a mopey path, so in that way, she's against our guy too.
