Matthew Cuthbert, Marilla Cuthbert

Matthew and Marilla are Anne's surrogate family, and while both characters love her and look out for her, they could not treat her more differently. Matthew's indulgent, always praising Anne, affirming her speeches, and bringing her treats and fashionable clothes. Marilla's strict. She makes Anne do a ton of chores and often responds to Anne sarcastically or by telling her to hold her tongue.

It's likely that being raised only by Matthew or by Marilla would mess Anne up a tad, but she blooms under both their guidance.
