What’s Up With the Title?

Dahl sure doesn't make us reach too far for this one. This is a story about a boy named Charlie who visits – you guessed it – a chocolate factory. What makes this such a great title is the slight change Dahl makes to it in order to title the last chapter of the book: "Charlie's Chocolate Factory." So now a book about Charlie and a chocolate factory becomes a book about a chocolate factory owned by Charlie. Congratulations, Charlie! You're the envy of all kids everywhere. We couldn't be happier for you – as long as you let us visit.
