What’s Up With the Title?

There’s no beating around the bush with this title: Cyrano de Bergerac is the main character of the play and also a real guy on whom Rostand based his work.

The "Comedy in Five Acts" bit is pretty straightforward, and the "hero" part is easy to see once you’ve gotten, oh, ten lines into one of Cyrano’s sword-fighting, poetry-spouting scenes. Also, if you’re a grammar nerd like us, the use of "an" instead of "a" has to do with "h" not being a full consonant.
