Kerim Bey is older than Bond; he might be wiser; and, with enough children to staff his entire office, may have even been around the block more than Bond himself. The two men are amiable and chummy, behaving as partners or equals. But Bond must defer to Bey to learn the lay of the land. When in Turkey, Bond must do as the Turks do.
