Character Analysis

Tonks is a young witch who comes to the Dursleys' house as part of Harry's guard to travel to Number Twelve, Grimmauld Place. She is an Auror, a Dark wizard hunter, and one of the newest members of the Order of the Phoenix. Tonks is also a born Metamorphmagus, which means that she can change her appearance at will. She turns her hair lots of intriguing colors (hot pink is probably our favorite), and she is also willing to give herself pig noses to make Ginny laugh. Tonks turns up regularly at Order events, and she is also among the wizards who threaten the Dursleys not to hurt Harry in the final chapter of the novel.
Tonks is a good-hearted individual, but she's also clumsy as all get-out. She regularly irritates Mrs. Weasley by offering to help with some chore and then making things worse. It is Tonks tripping over the painting covering in the entranceway to Number Twelve that first exposes Harry to the shrieking portrait of Mrs. Black.
