Despite all the violence and grown-up feelings of Book 5, there still isn’t a lot of hanky-panky going on. Harry gets his first kiss from Cho Chang and Ginny starts dating Michael Corner and then Dean Thomas, but there is no apparent progress on the Ron-and-Hermione relationship front foreshadowed in Book 4. There is so much other stuff going on in Order of the Phoenix, with the dual threats of Voldemort and the Ministry of Magic, that the main characters’ teenage hormones don’t get much play.
