Hunches in Bunches Dissatisfaction Quotes

How we cite our quotes: (Stanza.Line)

Quote #1

Do you ever sit and fidget
when you don't know what to do…? (1.1-2)

The whole poem kicks off with dissatisfaction brewing. Why, yes, we do know what those fidgets feel like. But what are you going to do about it?

Quote #2

Oh, you get so many hunches
that you don't know ever quite
if the right hunch is a wrong hunch! (5.1-3)

The dilemma of dissatisfaction is pretty much stated right here. If the boy knew what the right hunch would be, well, there wouldn't be much room for dissatisfaction in the poem. And it'd be a much shorter book, too.

Quote #3

I just knew
I'd make my mind up
if it had some high fresh air. (22.4-6)

The boy finally hits on what he's to do if he wants to appease his dissatisfaction. But once he gets that high fresh air… let's just say he has a bad case of the discontentment blues.
