All kidding aside Kim can be a great read for students. They can engage in a culture vastly different from the one they've been brought up in (if they aren't Indian), they can explore another continent vicariously, they can visit a different time without having to figure out how to build a time machine. In other words, Kim offers many opportunities to research another culture and see what makes others in the world tick.
