Dr. Busk

Dr. Busk is the head boffin aboard the Leviathan, but all he does is show up periodically to deliver some key information about what's up with the airship. When the Leviathan lands in London to pick up Dr. Barlow, he tells Deryn and the other midshipmen all about what's expected of them, and when the Leviathan crashes on the glacier, he delivers the boom about why they're all in really big trouble. Other than that, nothing goes on with Dr. Busk—he's never described beyond his black bowler hat, and the lone illustration of him just shows his back.
