Love in the Time of Cholera Steaminess Rating

Exactly how steamy is this story?

R

This book is all about love, so as you might imagine, it's got plenty of sex. One of the main characters, Florentino Ariza, actually keeps a record of all his sexual conquests in a book he titles Women. We're only privy to a dozen or so of Florentino's hundreds of escapades, but some of them are pretty steamy.

Sex isn't all fun and games in this book, though. Florentino's love life definitely has a dark side. This becomes especially evident when he has a Lolita-esque affair with his fourteen-year-old relative, who he's supposed to be looking out for. While Florentino is accustomed to sneaking around and breaking the rules in the name of sex, this time his actions have deadly consequences.
