Knights, wizards, swords in stones…Le Morte d'Arthur has been one of literature's greatest influences on pop culture for the past 600 years. No matter what, it's likely that your students have heard of King Arthur, or the sword in the stone, or the star-crossed lovers Gwenyvere and Launcelot.

This'll definitely make things a bit easier for you. There will still be necessary analysis of certain details, such as the ins and outs of Arthur's code, but the students' familiarity with the king allows for them to take the lead or contribute more than with other novels they know absolutely nothing about.
