Who is really going to do the liking here? For a moment, it sounds like the things the speaker loves ("what he loves") will be doing the "liking." This momentary confusion profoundly affects the way we read the poem. Is the speaker really vowing not to like things "too much"? Maybe not. Maybe it's the things he loves that should not "like too much." What say you?
