If you're willing to suspend your disbelief, this play is a piece of cake to read (compared to some other Shakespeare), and it's a ton of fun to watch on stage. If you're not willing to suspend your disbelief, you might have a hard time getting through Pericles. But seriously: you'd be missing out.
But okay, unlike this play, we'll be real for a second: this is Shakespeare, after all, so the language isn't easy. Thees and thous? You bet. But Pericles is also really fun, so all the work you'll need to put into understanding it may not even seem like work.
