Dr. Adler and Dr. Tamkin

More than one critic has noted that Seize the Day occurs in roughly two halves: the first is focused on Wilhelm's relationship with his father, Dr. Adler, and the second is focused on Wilhelm's relationship with Tamkin, his substitute father figure. Both men are father figures to Wilhelm, and in different ways, each of them fails him. Talk about daddy issues.
