Spider-Man Scene 3 Summary

  • At Oscorp—we're going to go out on a limb here and guess it stands for Osborn Corporation—a guy in a rad green flight suit is testing out a glider.
  • It's like a hoverboard—not those ones that kept blowing up over the 2015 holiday season, but a rocket-powered mega skateboard that can fly.
  • The Oscorp board of directors is here, and they want to see what Norman's research has produced. Most of the board members are military personnel, and they're led by Gen. Slocum.
  • Norman's research, BTW, isn't just the glider, it's a bunch of human performance enhancers, and Slocum wants to see the progress reports on them, pronto.
  • Dr. Stromm, Norman's lead researcher, confesses that they've tried their performance enhancers out on rats, and it didn't go well.
  • The rats got aggressive and violent. Oh, and they also went crazy.
  • In other words, this juice isn't ready for human trials, and they owe a bunch of rodents some apologies. Maybe a cheese basket or two.
  • Norman insists that it was just one trial that went haywire; all the rest were fine, and Stromm is the only staff member who thinks anything is seriously wrong.
  • Stromm tells the general that they need to go back to square one with the performance enhancers, and Norman is not happy with Stromm. At all.
  • Slocum tells Norman he's got two weeks for his performance enhancers to mount a successful human trial or else he's going to yank Oscorp's funding and give it to their competitor, Quest Aerospace, which is working on a similar project.
  • Pressure is on, Norm.
