Character Role Analysis

Marty DiBergi

Not that they ever listen to anything he has to say, but the director of their documentary seems to actually have a brain in his skull, which the boys could use to their advantage if they ever chose to do so.

He's the only one who seems to be willing to challenge Tap's preconceived notions ("Why don't you just make ten louder?") and to confront the looming shadow of obscurity that hangs over them.

That said, it probably isn't in Marty's best interest to turn the fate of the band around. Watching a musical group go bottoms-up is so much more entertaining to watch.
