Lawrence "Chunk" Cohen (Jeff Cohen)’s Timeline and Summary
- After witnessing a car chase, an excited Chunk rushes to tell his friend Mikey all about it. Unfortunately, he has a long history of…coloring the truth…and Mikey, Mouth and Data aren't buying what he's selling.
- When the boys discover a treasure map in the attic, they leave Mikey's house and follow the map to an abandoned restaurant on the coast. Chunk is hesitant to go along with another one of Mikey's crazy Goonie adventures, but he doesn't have any better options on the table.
- While the other Goonies enter the restaurant, Chunk heads over to the garage, where he discovers a vehicle riddled with bullet holes. He'd love to warn the others about it. If only he could speak…
- Chunk's love of Rocky Road ice cream gets him in trouble when he's accidentally closed into a freezer with a dead body. What a way to ruin one's appetite.
- He manages to free himself from the freezer, but not before everyone else has vanished into an underground tunnel.
- He attempts to follow them, but they urge him to contact the police instead. Eh, why not? Following a treasure map in search of pirate booty sounds boring anyway.
- Chunk makes it out to a nearby road, but flags down the wrong car. He's captured by the evil Fratellis, who take him back to the restaurant and threaten to shove his hand into a running blender unless he tells them "everything." He obliges.
- Once the Fratellis decide they have no more use for him, they tie Chunk to a chair and leave him in the basement with the family black sheep (which is saying a lot).
- They underestimate Sloth's ability to pull chains clean out of walls, however, and before you know it Sloth and Chunk are in the tunnels, hot on the Fratellis' trail.
- In the lagoon where One-eyed Willy's ship is stationed, Sloth and Chunk finally catch up with everyone else, and just in time. They (well, Sloth, really—credit where credit is due) detain the Fratellis long enough for all the Goonies to get away.
- Chunk and the other Goonies, now reunited, make their way out of the cave and back to shore, where they meet back up with their families.
- Chunk declares that Sloth is going to live with him now, although we'd love to hear what his parents think about that proposal. Hope they've got a sizeable guesthouse.
