The Fratellis (Anne Ramsey, Joe Pantoliano, Robert Davi)’s Timeline and Summary

  • The movie begins with Jake escaping from the county jail, which could probably use some stronger security. He's assisted in his getaway efforts by his mother and brother Francis.
  • After losing the cops following a nutty car chase, the Fratellis park their car in the garage of a restaurant that's closed for the season, and hide out inside.
  • They're visited by a couple of feds, who they quickly dispose of. Because FBI agents are no match for two slapstick goobers and an old woman in a bad mood.
  • Once the bodies are out of sight, the Fratellis are visited by several kids who wander into the restaurant and threaten to discover their dirty little secrets. Mama and Jake scare them off…temporarily, at least.
  • They throw one of the bodies into the back of their car and drive off to get rid of it. Where…we never find out. Maybe Astoria has a 24-hour body depository.
  • When the Fratellis return, they just barely miss the Goonies dropping through a hole in their fireplace and into the tunnels below.
  • They do, however, discover the spilled and broken water cooler, which alerts them that someone else has been there.
  • Jake and Francis take the car and the second body (they couldn't have made one trip?) but come to a stop in the middle of the road after they're flagged down by Chunk, who attempts to warn them about the dangerous Fratellis.
  • Jake and Francis take Chunk back to the restaurant, where he is interrogated and nearly tortured. Ultimately, the Fratellis tie him up and leave him in the basement with Sloth, then follow the other Goonies underground.
  • The path is pretty easy for the Fratellis, considering the Goonies have already set off all the booby traps. They make their way through the tunnels, running into some problems in the form of a log and a pair of Slick Shoes, but finally catching up to their rivals on board One-Eyed Willy's ship.
  • The Fratellis force the Goonies off the ship and appear primed to take the treasure themselves…when Sloth and Chunk suddenly show up to spoil their plans. Mama adds to their difficulties when she sets off another of Willy's booby traps that threatens to bury them all alive inside the cave.
  • If this weren't a kids' movie, that probably would have been the end of them. Curse you, PG rating.
  • They escape with their lives, but not with their freedom. After showing up on shore, the Fratellis are quickly taken into custody. Hopefully they'll be sent somewhere with maximum security this time.
