How It All Goes Down
- Daniel's walking toward his barber with a little bit of time to spare, so he tries to open some church doors in a half-hearted attempt to find God like the conductor said.
- The doors are locked. "God must be sleeping in" (49).
- Daniel sits down on the church steps and sees a pretty girl with a big curly Afro and pink headphones lost in her music.
- He wishes he were as passionate about being a doctor as she is about music.
- He notices that Deus Ex Machina (God from the machine) is written on the back of her leather jacket, wonders if it's a sign, and starts trailing her.
- She goes into a record shop called Second Coming...so obviously he has to go in.
