  • Austin researches his latest writing project at his mother's house, while trying to reconnect with his estranged brother Lee.
  • Awaiting the arrival of Saul, Austin lends Lee his car to get him out of the house.
  • Saul and Austin meet about Austin's writing project. It all looks good when Saul says, "Well, to tell you the truth, Austin, I have never felt so confident about a project in a long time" (1.3.3-4).
  • Austin helps Lee with the outline for Lee's movie idea. Austin criticizes Lee's idea.
  • After some arguing, Austin convinces Lee that he wants to help him on the outline, and they get back to work.
  • When Lee tells Austin that Saul wants to work on Lee's project, Austin suggests they pop some champagne and celebrate.
