Lee Timeline and Summary

  • Lee reconnects with Austin at their mother's house. It's not quite clear why Lee is there, but robbing from the locals appears to be high on his list.
  • Lee borrows Austin's car and takes off for a while.
  • During Austin and Saul's meeting, Lee returns with a stolen TV.
  • Before Saul heads out, Lee convinces him to play golf the following day and listen to an idea Lee has for a movie.
  • While Austin writes an outline, Lee spouts off the story for his movie.
  • After the golf, Lee returns to the house, carrying Saul's golf clubs. He tells Austin that Saul is going to take on the movie idea he pitched. Turns out some betting on golf was involved in the decision.
  • Lee breaks it to Austin that Saul won't be working on Austin's project anymore.
  • Lee asks Austin to write his screenplay, but Austin refuses.
  • Along with Saul, Lee tries to convince Austin to take on the writing job. Austin still refuses.
  • Embarking on a new phase of his life, Lee tries to write the script himself. This results in him destroying a typewriter with a golf club. Hey, don't judge. Writer's block can be really tough.
  • Striking a deal, Lee promises to take Austin to the desert with him if Austin will write the screenplay for him and give him full credit. Wouldn't you know it? Drunk, crazy Austin agrees.
  • When the boys' mom arrives home, Lee gets a little itchy to leave. He tells his mom he needs to borrow some antique dishes to take to the desert. He will not, however, be taking Austin.
  • A grand finale fight of UFC proportions ensues between the brothers. It looks like Lee might be dead, but he gets up to keep Austin from leaving, and the two stare each other down at the end of the play.
