    Konigsburg references Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking-Glass more than once in this book. Wonder why? Perhaps Shmoop is right in guessing that these stories "simultaneously embrace nonsense and logic," which is definitely something The Souls are trying to work out. Or, maybe it's just fun reading about chasing rabbits down holes.
