- Thoreau enjoys walking through the pine forests, which he describes as his own temples and shrines. He even happens to walk into the base of a rainbow – totally YouTube worthy.
- One day, he decides to go fishing at Baker's Farm, but, when he hears thunder, he seeks shelter with John Field, an Irishman, and his family.
- After the thunder passes, Field joins Thoreau for some fishing. Field tries to use the same techniques he used in Ireland which Thoreau (big surprise here) views as Field's way of holding on to his old ways and not opening himself up to the new. OK, now he's just being judgy.
