Bryson writes in a humorous, conversational tone that makes A Walk in the Woods a breezy read. There are a few chapters that go a little heavy into the history lessons, but they're well-written and spaced-out enough that they shouldn't get in the way of your enjoyment of the book… although they might come between you and the burning desire to get out there and walk for weeks on end.
