apr 22 Learn More Poison Gas Introduced in World War I


On this day in 1915, in the middle of World War I, the Germans introduced poison gas to warfare. We're talking about 150 tons of chlorine gas that shocked and shattered the Allied forces. Eventually, the Allies starting using their own poison gas, too, leading to the invention of gas masks. The Great War led to all sorts of inventions: everything from flamethrowers to tanks to maxi-pads. Yep.
