Well, first let's get rid of option C.
SAM may or may not be the name of one of the scientists...but we will never know.
We can get rid of D because the beginning of Paragraph 1
says that SAM is a region of the stem, not a stress.
And... why don't we get rid of B as well because last time we checked,
hormones are not the same thing as regions.
So, that leaves us with A... the SAM is the region of the plant where rapid growth occurs
to generate new leaves and flowers.
Sounds like a pretty close match to the definition of SAM in paragraph 1.
