Attribution Theory of Leadership

Categories: Company Management

Leadership...doesn’t exist. It’s all in people’s heads. It’s just a label that some put on others. We all just pick people we like and make excuses to follow them…like intelligence, honesty, charisma, or the fact that they have a lot of money and might share it with us, so we do what they say.

Under this theory, leaders aren’t made. They aren’t born. They’re just assigned that role through whatever randomness that floats through the minds of those around them...that they subsequently justify by naming traits of why these people are so great.
